Mangaluru, Mar 15: In connection to the death of Preksha (17) from Ashraya Colony in Kumlpala, Ullal, the court has remanded her friend Yatin Raj, to 14 days of judicial custody. Yatin Raj was arrested on the allegation of abetting Preksha's suicide.
Preksha's body was found hanging from a rope inside her home on March 10. Her parents and the locals had suspected murder. Ullal police had taken into custody three young men including her friend, Yatin Raj, who reportedly had visited the student-cum-model's home that day. On the basis of evidence the police gathered during their questioning, two were sent home and Yatin Raj was arrested, the police said.
During the questioning, the police as per information, got the indication that Preksha ended her life, as she was told not to go to Bengaluru to take part in the modelling shoot there.
The police in the meantime, have also been conducting a probe in Ashraya colony about the prevalence of ganja and other drugs in the locality. A list of 15 persons who are addicted to drugs has been prepared and the police are searching for them.
