Bengaluru, Mar 13: Home Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Saturday made it clear the State Government has given full freedom to the Special Investigation Team (SIT) to conduct a thorough probe into the Sex CD case involving former minister Ramesh Jarkiholi.
"We have instituted the SIT and have given full freedom to conduct its probe,’’ he said refusing to give any further reactions.
Answering questions from reporters in Bengaluru on Saturday, he said that he had already discussed with senior BJP leader Basanagouda Pail Yatnal on his threat to launch an agitation on the demand for reservation to the Veerashaiva-Lingayat community.
"I have already made a statement on the issue on the floor of the Legislative Assembly. The State Government is seized of the matter and Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa will take an appropriate decision after following all procedures,’’ he said.
Bommai said the State Government was prepared for a full debate on the issue on the floor of the Legislature if necessary. "We are not shying away from debate,’’ he asserted.
