Udupi: District Youth Congress president questions silence of BJP leaders on assault of civic worker

Daijiworld Media Network - Udupi (MS)

Udupi, Mar 13: "Where are MPs Nalin Kumar Kateel and Shobha Karandlaje and Karkala MLA Sunil Kumar, who give speeches projecting them as Hindu leaders and also say that they will set the fire on district, when there are atrocities against Hindus in the undivided district of Dakshina Kannada," questioned Deepak Kotian, district Youth Congress president.

Kotian was expressing his outrage against BJP MPs and MLAs who did not give any statement in favour of the civic worker, who was assaulted in the city on Friday by brothers of president of the BJP minority cell.

Deepak Kotian

He further said, "If the person who assaulted was a Muslim belonging to Congress or any other political party, these leaders of BJP would have given communally sensitive statements by now. However, a Hindu civic worker was attacked by brothers of BJP minority cell and the leaders of BJP, instead of searching who assaulted whom, they should say that wrong doers should be punished. BJP leaders who always bring friction between communities should understand this fact at least now."

"The service of civic workers who strive to keep the city clean is appreciable. Assault on civic worker is condemnable. The culprits should be punished severely. These types of incidents should not be repeated," said Kotian in a press release.

Since the victim is a dalit, this case doesn't affect BJP. They will jump into fray only if an upper caste is at the receiving end. Brahminical supremacy proved yet again.

Mr. Hebri it may not be important for you. Mr. Kotian has made a perfect point. Where are these noisy leaders? They should put their weight behind the Cops and punish the culprits. Dont you think so?

Don't twist the narrative, Sanjay Hebri. The amount of fiery and vengeful publicity this got from your own BJP whatsapp groups, and local news media, about these muslims slapping hindu worker was only to highlight that minority members need to be taught a lesson. Now all you members are silent after finding they are from BJP minority cell...lol enchena marre niklena?
