Mangaluru, Mar 12: MLA UT Khader has stated that the budget presented by the chief minister BS Yediyurappa lacks clarity.
Addressing a press meet at Congress Bhavan on Friday, March 12 MLA Khader said, "The recent State Budget presented by the CM failed to focus on measures to bring economic stability. The budget lacks a vision for development. It is a hollow budget. In the budget, the government failed to focus on the development of undivided Dakshina Kannada. People of backward classes were completed neglected in the budget."
"The government has announced Rs 500 crore each to Vokkaliga and Lingayat corporations. But, only Rs 1,500 crore for the development of other backward classes which consists of 17 castes. Why this discrimination?" Khader questioned.
The MLA also questioned the government for not reducing the duty on petrol and diesel. "There is no proposal for generating employment opportunities for the youth. The state budget has completely neglected the fishermen community," he added.
"The state government is not providing subsidised kerosene and diesel for fisherman. This is not acceptable," MLA Khader said.
"In the next supplement Budget, the government should allot funds for the development of the district," he said.

He also said that the government should have a separate narcotic police station to curb the drug menace.
