The internet users have questioned who is the real aggrieved here. They have created memes and trolled Hitesha. They have opined that like the MeToo campaign, MenToo campaign should be launched. Many have said that Hitesha has been creating a scene on the basis of the dark complexion of Kamaraj. Some also said that the lady had behaved arrogantly without speaking in Kannada.
Hitesha Chandrani, an Instagram influencer, had complained against Zomato delivery boy, Kamaraj, as there was a delay of nearly an hour in delivering food. She said she was waiting for clarification but by then Kamaraj hurled abuses at her, punched her in the face and ran away. She also made a video of blood oozing out of her nose and posted it on social media. But Kamaraj said it was inflicted by herself.
Kamaraj explains
Kamaraj said he had been late by about 45 to 50 minutes and had apologised for the same. She however, did not take the delay kindly and began to abuse him. "I tried to explain that road works delayed my arrival but she received the food from me but refused to pay for the food. Zomato people said that the order was cancelled at the last minute. I therefore asked her to return the food, but she refused. She called me a servant, and started to abuse me in Hindi," he said.
He said during this two years of service with Zomato, he had not encountered such a customer. He said he realized that he would not get money from the lady and therefore went near the lift to go back at which she hurled her slippers towards him. "I blocked them. She came forward to remove my hand and hit me at which I had to defend myself. At this her own ring came in contact with her nose and blood came out of it. Anyone who sees the photo can conclude that the injury was not the result of punch as claimed by her. I do not wear any ring," he stated.
Kamaraj said he had to use the stairs to escape as the lady did not allow him to go near the lift. He said he then informed the Zomato support system about the development at which they understood my problem and assured help. The attack of the lady on me is recorded in the CCTV and it gives clear picture of what had happened," he stated.
He said that he was asked by the Electronics City police to come there for inquiry. He said he went there and explained things. Kamaraj now laments the fact that he has to spend his own Rs 25,000 to legally fight the case.
