Beltangady, Mar 12: A youth who allegedly attempted to outrage the modesty of a minor girl at Nidigal of Kalmanja village of the taluk on Wednesday, is arrested and a case under POCSO is registered against him.
The arrested accused is identified as Mohammed Irfan. Accused got acquainted with the victim, who is studying in SSLC, on Instagram. The girl was travelling to her grandmother's house at Dharmasthala by government bus. The accused who was in the bus is alleged to have pulled the hand of the victim girl in a bid to outrage her modesty.
Dharmasthala police have arrested the accused and a case under POCSO act is registered against him.
