Bengaluru, Mar 11: Former chief minister Sarekoppa Bangarappa’s son Madhu Bangarappa, who was a former MLA and state working president of JD(S), has finally made up his mind and joined the Congress party after keeping off and quitting the JD(S) in Bengaluru on Thursday.
Madhu Bangarappa, who called on the former chief minister and Congress party’s Opposition leader in the state Assembly Siddaramaiah, claimed that he joined the Congress party as there was a lot of scope for him to work and express his views in his new party.

Madhu Bangarappa was defeated by his brother Kumara Bangarappa (BJP) in the Soraba constituency in the 2018 assembly elections.
"All my supporters had taken the decision. I am joining the Congress today," he said.
He claimed that he can do more good work in Congress and his father had become the state chief minister while in Congress.
Asked about the reasons for leaving the JD(S), Madhu Bangarappa said he had explained his problems to JD(S) leader H D Kumaraswamy on many occasions. "I do not want to speak about it now,’’ he said.
A few days ago, Ashok Managuli, son of former minister late C Managuli, also joined the Congress.
Managuli is likely to be the candidate of the party in the forthcoming by-election to the Sindagi constituency in the Vijayapura district.
The by-election was necessitated following the death of two-time MLA and former minister C Managuli. He died due to Covid-19 complications.
Ashok Managuli joined the Congress without conditions, said the leader of the opposition Siddaramaiah.
Managuli joined the party in the presence of KPCC president D K Shivakumar and other senior leaders.
