Udupi: BJP to organise rally in support of central agricultural laws

Daijiworld Media Network - Udupi (JD/SP)

Udupi, Mar 11: District BJP president Kuilady Suresh Nayak, hailed chief minister B S Yediyurappa, for presenting his eighth state budget.

Addressing a press conference here on Thursday March 11, Nayak said that this budget, size of which is Rs 2,46,207 crore, is a balanced budget that aims at the welfare of the farmers and the women. He said that an honest effort has been made by giving equal importance to all the districts without leaving any additional taxes.

"The chief minister has laid emphasis on the development of the state. Instead of reimbursement of tax portion for 1.5 lac kilo litres of diesel to the fishermen, he has taken steps to distribute diesel free of taxes at the delivery point. He has set aside Rs 62 crore for exploring sea resources, Rs 500 crore for tourism development, development of waterway from Hangarcutta to Manipal, development of Maravanthe Ottinene beach, etc,” he said.

Suresh said that Rs 37,188 crore has been set aside for women's development projects and women entrepreneurs will get loan up to two crore rupees at 4 percent interest. He accused the Congress of indulging in malicious and misinformation campaign against the central government's farm laws. Therefore, against this campaign, and to create awareness among the people about the agricultural acts, the district BJP will organize Padayatra during the second week of April from Byndoor to Udupi, he said. He also said that the district BJP has decided for village stays at 32 centres from March 20 onwards. Under this programme, a team of five to six persons will stay at the houses of BJP activists. Meetings will be held at 5 pm and consultation with active workers of the party and other things will be held. He said that the aim is to win 26 out of the 30 zilla panchayat seats and over 70 out of 85 taluk panchayat seats.

Zilla panchayat president Dinakar Babu, member Shilpa Suvarna, district spokesperson Guruprasad Shetty, general secretary Sadananda Uppinakudru and others were present.

Are you colour blind (or turn anghutta chchaap) when news about Karnataka come out ? Farmers were tricked to sign contract by Reliance Markets to purchase paddy from Karnataka farmers. At what cost ? Just one Rupee more than what is paid in APMCs. What difference it made to the farmers ? There is no surety that Reliance will pay, it can reject the grains outright saying the quality is not good. Will you stand a guarantor Mr. Almeida ? If Karnataka farmers are not protesting, its because of people like you. They are now afraid about consequences if they don't abide by the contract. Will you bring them out of the situation ?

Mr Deshabhktha, First of all price is to to be determined by demand and supply. It is foolish to create an artificial price through MSP. MSP has become a dangerous tool of political one upmanship.

Just look around to see how properties and apartments are on distress sale. This itself shows the financial condition of people. No wonder the rich have got richer but those who saved their hard earned money are going bankrupt under the present rule. Still if you are supporting the farm laws that made Karnataka farmers sign deceitful contracts, I have no doubt that you guys too are involved in selling India to Adani/Ambanis.

It is clear to the people of our country that these three farm bills was a dubious case of match fixing by Modi and Amit Shah for their crony capitalists friends like Ambani and Adani. The elaborate advance preparations , go downs, super markets, land acquisitions and other arrangements by industrialists Abmani and Adani are already in the public domain. These crony capitalists will then dominate the agriculture sector and render the farmers vulnerable and vanquished. The BJP Govt has made a mockery of Parlimentary Democracy by passing these Farm Bills without any discussion in the house or taken any of the stake holders into confidence. They finally passed it in the Rajya Sabha in a most deceitful manner through a voice vote just to please their Crony Capitalist friends at the expense of the Farmers.

You will win all the seats, such is the popularity. I don't think you need to stress much or hold these additional village stays. Just imagine the development that is happening and people are ok to bear any burden.
