Brahmavar, Mar 11: Chennayya Poojary (51), resident of Kotathattu Padukare near Kota in the taluk hanged himself at the well of a temple dedicated to Goddess Sirsi Marikamba near his house by using the rope of the temple well.
Chennayya ended his life in this way on Wednesday March 10 morning. He was operating a Beeda shop at the beach of Padukere within Kota gram panchayat limits. Reasons for taking this extreme step are not known. The incident happened within the limits of Kota police station.
This incident has similarities with another such incident which happened within the Kota police station limits within a week. Three days ago, Chandra Poojary had ended his life at Lord Mahalingeshwara tmeple, Thekkatte near Kota. The current incident is the second one. Locals are worried over these incidents which they feel can dent the faith and devotion the people have in the temples.
