Mangaluru, Mar 10: Police took into custody three people over the death of the 17-year-old Preksha. They have been identified as Mundoli resident Yathin Raj, and Ashraya colony residents, Saurabh and Suhan. Yathin Raj is known to have been friends with Preksha and would often escort her when she had to visit a doctor. The locals, however, suspect murder and claim to have seen three people visit the house when the victim was home alone. Ullal police have taken the trio into custody on the basis of information obtained from the locals. They are interrogating the suspects to find out whether they are responsible for Preksha's death or forced her to end her life.

Following the incident, Mangaluru police commissioner Shashi Kumar visited the spot and held discussions with the mother of the deceased for about 30 minutes. The case appeared to be a suicide at the outset. The mother also told to the reporters that she was against her daughter's trip to Bengaluru as the latter had been sick for weeks.

Fingerprint experts, dog squad and forensic experts visited the spot and have gathered details. The investigation in the case has begun under the leadership of Ullal police inspector Sandeep. The post-mortem of the dead body was conducted at Deralakatte, KSHEMA hospital.

Preksha's sister revealed that the mother of one of the three men, detained by the police arrived at their residence and pounded on their door. It is said that the victim's family was not well acquainted with their neighbours. It is possible that the mother, who also happens to be their neighbour, was knocking on the door to prevent the tragedy from happening as Preksha had informed of her plans to end life with Yathin Raj as admitted by Saurabh.

Mangaluru: Girl found dead with noose around neck; locals suspect murder

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangaluru

Mangaluru, Mar 10: A 17-year-old girl was found dead at Ashraya Colony in Kumpala on Wednesday, March 10.

The deceased has been identified as Preksha, daughter of Chitthaprasad and Kavita. Her body was found with a noose around the neck inside her house.

Preksha was pursuing her education at a private college near Nanthoor but was at home taking leave. Her mother had been to Anganwadi for work and Preksha was alone at home. Her mother who returned home for lunch in the afternoon found Preksha hanging.

According to sources, Preksha was supposed to leave for Bengaluru along with another person from Kolya for a photoshoot at 2 pm on Wednesday. However, her parents had objected to it. It is said that Preksha was suffering from fever for the last week and was at home without attending college. Given her passion for modelling, Preksha had told her friends about an opportunity she landed to act in a television serial. She was also one of the top five finalists on Teen Tulunadu that was held recently in Hotel Sai Palace, Mangaluru.

First of all let me express my heartfelt condolences to the grieved family members and Let Almighty God grant them enough energy, tolerance, patience to sustain and overcome this irreparable loss.Whatever happened is very sad and sorry.Unbelievable.May almighty God in His everlasting Mercy grant an eternal peace to the departed soul. Now come to the point, from the above news article and related picture,it is quite clear that there is dim chances of suicide. It must be well planned murder out of jealousy as there are three people involved. It is clear indication of murder. Only thorough investigation and autopsy will reveal the truth. Whoever did this inhumane, brutal murder without any iota or human heart must be nabbed at the earliest and should be shot dead.Don't wait for the court verdict. Precious life of seventeen years girl, who was pursuing her studies has been lost. Very sad. Om Shanthi

Very sad news. Condolences to family. May her soul rest in Peace. Police must inquire those who visited her before her suicide or murder!!! Definitely these 3 men involved and someone must have involved with her personally. Love, lust and once she go for modelling career she might change her mind so planned to stop her. Victim must get justice.

Very sad, why, such drastic step at such a tender age? Overcoming some trials actually strengthen the human beings. If it's murder, how cruel the murdering humans are! Real Devils they are! They aren't fit to live amongst human beings!
