Brahmavar, Mar 10: Private bus staff gave a fine example of their humane side when they rushed to the help of the driver of a fish lorry that had overturned at Heroor near here on the evening of Tuesday March 9.

When a private AKMS bus that was bound for Udupi from Kundapur reached Heroor, this incident had taken place. The bus employees have come in for lavish praise for keeping human consideration above other things.

When the said bus approached Heroor, the fish lorry had just then fallen on the road and the lorry driver had suffered serious injuries. The bus driver Santhosh Gatty and conductor Altaf immediately stopped the bus, brought the injured driver into their bus with the help of the general public and the bus passengers, and admitted him into a private hospital at Udupi.

Speaking to Daijiworld about the incident, Santhosh Gatty said that he and his fellow bus staff with the support of the passengers, admitted the injured driver into a hospital. "Initially the hospital personnel insisted that we should stay with the patient in the hospital. But we had to take the bus to Mangaluru and there were passengers in the bus. When we explained the situation to the hospital staff, they understood our predicament and let us go," he stated.

In view of the urgency, it is learnt, Santhosh covered the ten km distance to Udupi from Heroor in about six minutes. He also contacted the owner of the fish lorry with the help of his friends and informed him about the developments.
