Bengaluru, Mar 9: Ramesh Jarkiholi, who had to make an ignonomous exit from the state cabinet after his name was involved with a sex CD last week, has strongly rebutted the allegations made against him. Addressing a press meet here on Tuesday March 9, he said that a huge conspiracy had been hatched against him, and pledged not to rest till the concerned are brought to book. During the course of the press meet, he turned emotional, and with tears rolling down his eyes, said that he is not interested in politics, but the honour of his family is the foremost.
Jarkiholi refused to name the conspirators. But he revealed that this conspiracy was hatched at two spots in the city. "I know very well who these people are. But I prefer not to announce their names now. The conspiracy was planned on the fourth floor near Yeshwantpur police station and the fifth floor near Orion Mall. I can only reveal that much for now," he explained.
The former water resources minister said that Balachandra Jarkiholi has said that the girl was paid five crore rupees not Rs 50 lac as claimed earlier." It is said that she also has been given an apartment in a foreign country. But I cannot vouch for the correctness of these claims now," he added.
Kumaraswamy had spoken about five crore rupees deal as soon as the CD hogged public limelight. Ramesh Jarkiholi also said the same thing. He gratefully recalled the support extended by the Deve Gowda family to him. "Even though I had caused the downfall of the coalition government of which the JD(S) was a partner, Deve Gowda family including Kumaraswamy and Revanna extended moral support to me by calling me over the phone immediately," he stated.
Jarkiholi said that a few people have conspired to make this CD. He said he came to know about the CD four months ago and recalled that he had stated then that he had never done anything wrong and that he has nothing to do with the said CD. "A day before the CD was to be released, a person close to me called from Delhi to alert me. But I was unmoved as I had never done anything wrong," he explained.
Speaking about the influential leader behind the CD, Ramesh said that when he was made the minister, a super leader had predicted that the former would not be able to handle the department for long and that he would leave it within three months. "I successfully managed the department. Frustrated at my success, this leader has weaved this conspiracy," he stated.
