Udupi: 'People arriving from Maha, Kerala to mandatorily carry negative Covid report' – DC

Daijiworld Media Network – Udupi (HB/EP)

Udupi, March 8: "People are seen violating COVID regulations believing that the disease has been eradicated. But it is not. Therefore the use of face mask, sanitisers and social distancing should be continued," said deputy commissioner G Jagadeesha in a press conference at DC office auditorium on Monday, March 8.

"People arriving from Maharashtra and Kerala should mandatorily carry a negative COVID report that is no older than 72 hours. Those who travel to other states should undergo COVID tests once in 15 days. Cases will be registered against those who are arriving in the district without a negative COVID report. Anyone having information of people arriving from Maharashtra and Kerala without furnishing negative COVID reports should inform the authorities," the DC said.

"Vaccine can be obtained free at government hospitals and on payment of Rs 250 at private hospitals. The day to get vaccinated can be fixed online by registering at https://selfregistration.cowin.gov.in or on the Aarogya Setu app."

"Those in villages who do not have network coverage or understanding of how to operate the computer can visit the vaccine centre directly with their identity card, a photograph and get themselves registered to get vaccinated. Over 1,51,557 people above 60 years and between 45-59 years with underlying conditions are in the district. 82,100 doses of Covishield vaccine have been supplied to the district, of which 49,200 are reserved for senior citizens," he said.

"People can get vaccinated on all days except the holidays across all the taluk hospitals and the district hospital. It can be obtained at community health centres on all the working days except on Tuesdays and Thursdays. A large number of senior citizens and people suffering from comorbidities have become victims of the virus. They should get vaccinated so that we can defeat the virus," Jagadeesha said.

"Only three people among those who received the COVID vaccine had side effects in the district. But it was established that it is not due to the vaccine. All three persons are safe. People should not listen to false propaganda," he added.

District panchayat CEO, Dr Navin Bhat, DHO Dr Sudhir Chandra Sooda, COVID vaccine officer, Dr M G Rama, COVID nodal officer, Dr Prashanth Bhat and Dr Premanand were present.

This is my observations since last 2 months.... 1) permission has been given to group events such as frequent cricket Tournaments, sports, kambala...etc 2) no restrictions are followed during the events of Kola, Nema, Sarvajanika Anna Oota, Church gatherings & ward Jamaat, Mosque rituals, drama activities at churches ..etc 3) most of them stop wearing masks, thinking that no more Covid exist 4) people who got vaccination thinking that they are free from desease whichs is the false assumption Stay away from these or take precautionary measures properly

Travellers who can show that they have taken two doses of any of the four main vaccines currently on the market, are able to enter other countries or states with no quarantine requirements. The second dose will need to have been administered at least two weeks before arrival in the country/state. This is the rule in some counties. However, no rules are formulated in our country till now for your query. Hence, have a negative covid report certificate to enter Udupi. Plenty of negative covid report certificates are available without testing. Let us not go for such things Jossey.

Santan sir, i am definitely sure this is not the government's problem but, purely people's negligence...Majority people do not wear masks and as you said some produce fake negative certificates and enter the district which they want to....
