Udupi, Mar 8: “BJP misleads people by lies. The prime minister who speaks about change and development has failed to control the spiralling prices,” said KPCC executive president and Udupi district in-charge, R Dhruvanarayana. He was speaking at the district Congress executive committee meeting held at the district Congress auditorium.
“The prices of cooking gas being used by the poor and middle-class people, petrol and diesel are constantly increasing. While the assurances that were made before coming to power are forgotten, many more false promises are being made misleading the people. The government is suppressing the cries of the people. The banks of the coastal districts which were the lifeline and contributed to the growth of the district are merged with the banks in the north which were on the verge of liquidation. This was a betrayal to the people in the coastal region.”
District Congress president, Ashok Kumar Kodavoor said that the ‘Janadhwani’ protest rally by foot against anti-farmer bills and price rise have reached a huge number of people exceeding our expectations. “The party leaders and activists have made it possible. The Congress party is preparing for the upcoming district panchayat and taluk panchayat elections. Committees and in-charge are formed at village levels. Committees are being prepared with adjustments with the block president,” he said.
Former minister Vinay Kumar Sorake said that people are tired of the anti-people rule of BJP. “Our party activists should convert them as votes in favour of the Congress party,” he said.
