Bengaluru: 'Tulu movies should reach entire Karnataka audiences,' stresses Harish Sherigar

Bengaluru, Mar 8: "Movies made in Tulu language should not get confined to coastal districts alone. They should reach the audiences from the nooks and corners of Karnataka. People of Karnataka should extend as much love, importance and support which they extend to Kannada movies, to Tulu films. By doing so, people of the entire state should encourage Tulu movies," stressed Kannada-Tulu film producer and well-known entrepreneur from Dubai, Harish Sherigar.

He was addressing a press meet organised in the city relating to the release of Guilty Stick comedy Tulu movie, 'English - Yenkleg Barpuji Bro', which has been produced by Harish Sherigar and Mrs Sharmila Sherigar under the banner of 'Acme Movies International' and directed by K Sooraj Shetty. The film is much awaited and the audiences have a lot of expectations from it.

Sherigar recalled that the Kannada movies produced by him earlier under the banner of Acme Movies International, 'March 22', 'Hottegagi Genu Battegagi', and 'Yaana' have succeeded at the box office due to the encouragement and support of the media. He said that his movie, 'March 22' has won national and state level awards.

"English - Yenkleg Barpuji Bro' happens to be my first ever Tulu movie. A number of movies made in Tulu language have attained tremendous success by getting screened in the country and abroad. In Karnataka, if Tulu language has to get added recognition, people of the state should bless the language. If the Kannadigas extend support to Tulu movies, these movies will be able to become more popular and famous," he explained.

Harish Sherigar said that even before the release of this cinema, it has created several records. He pointed out that for the first time, top notch Kannada actor Anant Nag, has appeared in a Tulu movie in a unique role. His acting will remain etched in one's memory permanently. English - Yenkleg Barpuji Bro' film happens to be the first film to have used an 8K" camera. It also gets credit for having been filmed at Bengaluru palace," he stated.

This film's world premiere had been held at Al Ghurair Centre Deira, Dubai, on March 13, 2020 in a grand manner. People who watched the movie came out in lavish praise of it, Sherigar said. People who saw the film not only praised it but also appreciated the efforts made by Harish and Sharmila Sherigar couple for making such a movie that wins over the hearts of the people. He said that this happens to be the first ever film to have organized its World Premiere Show in the history of Tulu films.

'English - Yenkleg Barpuji Bro' to release on March 26

'English - Yenkleg Barpuji Bro' will be released at a time all over the world on March 26 including Mangaluru, Udupi and other parts of Karnataka, the Gulf and elsewhere in the world. Sherigar requested the audiences to extend full support to the film and make it successful.

Director of the movie, K Sooraj Shetty, said that he was looking for a good producer backed by the dream of making a good movie. "At that time, Harish Sherigar expressed readiness to produce this movie. When making big budget films, we come across many tough situations. But our producer has given full support without compromising on any issues with their only aim of ensuring that the film comes off well. As per the desire of Sherigar, we have made a good movie which the family can sit together and watch. The film has come off well. I request everyone to support the film," he requested.

The movie has an army of comedians form Tulu filmdom. By kicking up lot of interest before the release, this film has written a new chapter in the history of Tulu cinema. The audiences have been eagerly awaiting to watch the movie that had been postponed because of COVID pandemic. Comedy is the focal point of the movie. The movie also has different situations, story, dialogues and hit songs, all of which promise to inspire the success of the movie. Its dialogues have lot of punches, comic situations, acting of comedians, photography, songs, background music, beautiful locations etc are the high points of the movie.

The film has comedians like Aravind Bolar, Navin D Padil, Bhojaraj Vamanjoor, Vismay Vinayak, Deepak Rai, Prathvi Ambar known for his of 'Diya' film, who is in the lead role, and Navya Poojary, who is in the female lead, acting of whom will make everyone happy. Sooraj Shetty also said that the acting of Anant Nag will get permanently embedded in the minds of the people.

Prathvi Ambar said that he had acted in Tulu movies earlier but 'Pilibail Yamunakka' directed by Suraj Shetty Shetty had won him a lot of recognition and given him a break. He thanked Sooraj Shetty for identifying his talent and supporting him. He said he got further opportunities including in Kannada after this, and said because of Sooraj Shetty in a way, he had grown.

Navya Poojary, who is in the female lead, said that she had interest in movies and started to get opportunities after acting in this film. She said that she has been given a role in this film which cannot be forgotten, and in which her talent could be exhibited. She said that this has come as a support for their cine life. She thanked producer, Harish Sherigar, director, Sooraj Shetty and the entire team of the film.

Actress and playback singer Nimika Ratnakar, who was present as special guest, wished the film every success. Hemanth, who is the distributor for Bengaluru and Mysuru regions, was present.

K Sooraj Shetty has written the story, screenplay and dialogues and directed 'English - Yenkleg Barpuji Bro'. Music is composed by Kadri Manikanth, Krishna Sarathi and Abhilashi Kalati have handled the cinematography, Manu Shedgar has edited the film, Mahesh Enmoori is the art director, Arjun Lewis and Loku Kudla are the lyricists, and 'Bhajrangi' Mohan has choreographed the songs.
