Ramnagar, Mar 7: Former chief minister H D Kumaraswamy has accused social worker Dinesh Kallahalli, who released the alleged sex-for-job scandal CD of former minister Ramesh Jarkiholi to the media, of being involved in a Rs 5-crore deal for releasing the incriminating video.
Kumaraswamy demanded Kallahalli's arrest, alleging that the release of the CD was a result of the deal, and questioned how Jarkiholi’s private moments were captured on video and released into the public domain in such a coordinated manner.
Responding to the accusation, Kallahalli challenged Kumaraswamy and asked him to share details of the alleged deal.
Speaking to the media at Kanakapura, Kallahalli said, "Kumaraswamy should share the information he has with him regarding the CD with officials concerned and the media."
On the issue of six other ministers approaching the court seeking media restraint, Kallahalli said, "I do not know why they have approached the court. But I have records of their illegal activities. This will be released after discussing the legal implications of the same with my lawyer."
On March 2, water resources minister Ramesh Jarkiholi resigned from the state cabinet after Kallahalli handed CDs of the sex tape to the Bengaluru police and urged for a case to be registered, alleging that the woman in the video, who he claimed to represent, was allegedly coerced into a sexual relationship with the promise of a government job by the minister.
