Belagavi, Mar 7: The district administration of Belagavi led by deputy commissioner M G Hiremutt has barred the entry of Shiv Sena leaders into the state in connection to the issue of hoisting Kannada flag.
Maharashtra Ekikaran Samiti (MES) and Shiv Sena have been allegedly creating disturbance in the district with regard to the border as well as language issue. The Kannada flag was hoisted in front of Belagavi coporation months ago. But MES and Shiv Sena are still keeping the issue alive. MES has called for huge protest on March 8, and Shiv Sena Kollapur district president Vijaya Devane has publicly announced that he will take part in it.
MES has been urging the corporation authorities to remove the Kannada flag hoisted in front of the corporation. Shiv Sena is also supporting the stand of MES. Chief minister of Maharashtra Uddhav Thackeray has already raked issues regarding books and other documentaries. Now Shiv Sena is all set to hold protest in Belagavi.
This prohibitory order against activists of Shiv Sena including Vijaya Devane, will be in place from 6 am of March 7 to 6 am of March 9. The DC has also appealed to MES to withdraw the proposed protest.
