Mangaluru, Mar 5: For the third time in the last two months, a ragging case has been reported from within the commissionerate jurisdiction. In this case, ragging was reported from a private college near Surathkal. The principal of the college who expressed himself against the menace of ragging, was reportedly attacked. The police have arrested four students in this respect.

Third year engineering students, Muhammed Bazil, Sambhram Alva, K U Samil and Ashwin S Johnson are the arrested students.

Junior students had told the principal about having been subjected to ragging by their seniors in the college. The principal had summoned the four students involved with ragging, and given them advice to desist from such things. He also warned them of debarring them from the college if such incidents recur. At that time, the students reportedly attacked the principal.

These rogue boys who call themselves students should be repaired correctly. Attacking principal is the last nail on the coffin. Some so called intellectual are commenting here that if the boys were your children, would you write the same thing..to which i would like to say that , If your boy is a rogue, then keep him safe in the house ..He may be a small pampered kid for you and him ragging other kids may look cute for you , but not for others. These rogue elements need to be dismissed from college and police should take necessary action.

Oh sorry to hear the comment. If that boy is your child then same comment you will give. Such a big punishment is for murderers and thieves. These are children. They should be corrected without harming their body. Jail is ok.

Ragging in normal civil colleges is not a norm. Even in defence ,police, shipping and other rigorous disciplines it is slowly becoming a thing of the past. Attacks on faculty , principal is not a Condonable act by any measure. Students will be punished. Should have known better than to pass time in this stupid manner.

In our time, when the student was in principals' office. it was assumed that the student was in trouble. Today, when a student is in principal's office, it is damn sure that the principal is in trouble.

This has to be dealt with sevearly. A kind of punishment that will make then desist from such nonsense in future. If not tue students will treat this as a heroic and continue in the path of crime.
