Karkala, Mar 4: A retired Indian Space and Research Organisation (ISRO) scientist died after he accidentally slipped and drowned in a river.
The deceased is identified as Ratnakar S C (63). It is learnt that he was residing in Ramakrishna Ashrama at Govinduru in Yerlapadi in Karkala taluk.
Reportedly, on March 3 morning, Ratnakar had been to take bath in the Swarna river. When he ventured into water, he accidentally slipped and fell into the water and drowned. His mortal remains were traced in the evening.
Orginally hailing from Shivamogga, Ratnakar had retired from ISRO four years ago.
Karkala town police have registered a case of Unnatural Death Report (UDR) under CrPC section 174.
