Mangaluru: District admin clears illegal goshala at Kenjar, owner terms it ‘betrayal to Hindutva’

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangaluru (DV)

Mangaluru, Mar 3: The district administration on Thursday March 4, cleared an illegal goshala on government land at Kenjar, on the outskirts of the city with help of police force.

According to the district administration, the land in which the goshala existed, was earmarked for the Coast Guard Training Academy.

In recent District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) meeting held at Netravati auditorium in zilla panchayat on February 22, Deputy commissioner (DC) Dr K V Rajendra had said that the district administration would initiate action to vacate the encroached land allotted for the academy. Even, BJP state president Nalin Kumar in the meeting had stated that if the goshala is an illegal one, action could be taken against it.

Speaking to Daijiworld.com, the owner of the cattle at the goshala, Prakash Shetty said, “Without serving any notice, the district administration has demolished the cattle shelter. There are 300 cattle in my goshala. Where should I find an alternative land for the cattle? Even the sale deed of the land is on my name. At least, the government has to provide an alternate land for the goshala. But, without any such measures, the goshala has been demolished.

"This cruel act of the administration and representatives is a betrayal to Hindutva and humanity. It is worse than Mughal rulers,” he said.

A few locals opined that there are many illegally constructed building in the city, but the administration is not clearing those. But now, who will take care of the cattle in Kenjar, they said.

This is the beauty of current govt ..Cow or No Cow ..if you do something illegal ,you are behind bars. Good going. The RTO office the next target of Modi Govt ..just wait and watch how things unfold in the coming days. This govt is in a process refining spree using technology wherever applicable and is doing changes at a swift pace. Its targeting low hanging fruits which is available for change without much impact Recent e.g is Fast Tag at NH Tolls ..I have personally experienced faster exit from the toll ..The NH highway quality is good and we have overall pleasant experience barring a few places . Stars are Modi ,Piyush Goyal,Nitin Gadkari ,Nirmala seetharaman ..We need to salute these guys.

In a couple of years time, Shetty would have made it legal, and built a house for himself. Never mind the cows.

some goshalas nothing but encroachment of forest land large scale... some portion is used for "goshala" and many structures to house family, kith and kin and servants of the "Landlord"... it serves as some kind of spacious resort for the "landlord" and his kith and kin... add to that the no-tax income of milk, ghee, butter and all other products made in this "goshala / farmhouse".... this is mainly vacation forest resort for the gopalaka family... no pollution, no noise, salubrious climate, land is used to grow vegetables and other agri products... the gopalaka will hop on and off "goshala" from city as per their convenience, leaving care taker / servants in "goshala"...

After illegally occupying the land, Prakash Shetty wanted the district admin to serve him a notice! I would have liked the district admin to sell the cows as they were found on Government land.

Dear Prakash Shetty, I do appreciate your concern for Goshala and taking care of 300 cows. as per your belief. But all the good services has no value in this cruel world. All big speakers are only for name, fame. After that political power and money. Better concentrate your energy for yourself and how to progress in life. Your savings only will help you, during your need. Rest all is fake.
