Kaup, Mar 4: Head teachers of government model higher primary school at Palimaru and Mudarangady high school have been served with notices by the department of public instruction seeking explanation about allowing violation of COVID guidelines.

Udupi zilla panchayat chief executive officer (CEO), Naveen Bhat Y, had visited PU colleges at Mudarangady and Palimaru on Wednesday March 3 to assess the issues of drinking water and toilets. He also visited classes during the visit. As violations were observed, it is said, notices seeking explanations were issued by the evening of Wednesday.

It is said that the officials had visited Mudarangady PU College but not the high school section.

Still the senior teacher of the school, Pushpavathi, is worried over the notice served. The zilla panchayat CEO had visited the government PU College at Palimaru. Palimaru government primary school headmistress, Shashikala, clarified that the officials had not visited her school but the notice has surprised her too.
