Mangaluru, Mar 2: After coronavirus infection played havoc with the normal life of the people, over 60 government schools in Dakshina Kannada (DK) have acquired new appearances complete with art works.

The teachers have been giving new shape and colour to the school to attract the students. They have turned the schools into buses, trains etc which have brought out their creativity.

The teachers got the idea when the schools were closed, to attract the students. For example, a room in the government higher primary school at Kudradka, Beltangady taluk, has been transformed to look like a bus. In-charge headmistress of the school, Benedict Pascal Monteiro, says that they want to make more such experiments. She says the school has 68 students but only four teachers. Artist Praveen Acharya Nettara drew up the picture of the bus. The colouring cost Rs 30,000, which was met by teachers and donors, she reveals.
