Mangaluru, Mar 1: There is information that the Jaguar car belonging to certain persons accused in a case, which reportedly was sold during November last when it was with the police, was seen moving around the city even thereafter. Therefore, it has been decided to conduct an investigation based on the global positioning system (GPS) of the said car.
Sources said that a senior police officer had moved around the city in the said car. He also used to take it to his home. Thereafter, the car was found parked in the residence of a middleman at Falnir, sources added. The person who stuck the car deal happens to be a middleman based in the city who has always been keeping contact with police officers arriving in the city. He may be questioned. All those who received notices so far will be questioned at the Bengaluru office of the criminal investigation department.

Entrepreneur Karunakar Bhandary, had alleged that the city crime branch police, during the raid on his office on June 25, 2019, had taken into possession Rs 66 lac. He accused the police of wrongly mentioning the amount so seized as Rs 57.74 lac in their records. He had said that a sum of Rs 14.76 lac had gone missing. He said he had availed of loan from the bank for the construction of ice plant and had kept the money in the office. He claimed that the CCB officials, in the name of cricket betting, raided his office and took the money away. "I took up with senior officials but it did not work. After complaining, they conducted repeated raids and inflicted mental harassment. The then CCB sub-inspector Kabbalraj and staff, deceived after collecting cash. I have provided documentary proof to the court," he had said.
