Bengaluru, Feb 28: The Golden Chariot luxuy tourist train, which had stopped running due to Covid 19 pandemic, is going to start again from March 14. Tickets can be booked online on http://goldenchariot.org.
This time, a free flight ticket from Bengaluru to Chandigarh will be given to those who tour by this train. There will be three different packages in the tour of this train like Pride of Karnataka, Jewels of South and Glimpses of Karnataka.
In the Pride of Karnataka package the train will start from Yashawantpur railway station in Bengaluru on the morning of Sunday and will go to Bandipur. After the evening safari from 4.30 pm to 6.30 pm, dinner will be served. Then the train will reach Mysuru around midnight. After breakfast on Monday, tourists will be taken to Mysuru Palace. On Monday evening, the train will reach Srirangapatna. On Tuesday, visit to Halebeedu, Wednesday will be Hampi and on Thursday tourists can view Badami caves, where they can view Pattadakallu and Aihole. On the sixth day, Saturday, the train will chug to Goa. Tourists can view churches and museums of north Goa. The train will return to Bengaluru on Saturday.
In Jewels of South package, the train will leave Bengaluru on Sunday and will reach Hampi on Monday. On Tuesday, the tourists will be taken to Mahabalipuram of Tamilnadu. On Wednesday Tanjavoor and Chettinad, on Thursday Cochin and on Friday it will reach Kumarkom and return back to Bengaluru on Saturday.
Glimpses of Karnataka is a package of three nights and four days. The train will leave Bengaluru on Sunday and reach Bandipur. On Monday it will go to Mysuru, Tuesday to Hampi and return back to Bengaluru on Wednesday.
Golden Chariot train started its services in Karnataka in 2008. This was started under the joint participation of railway department of union government and state government. The supervision of this train is undertaken by railway catering and tourism.
