Kundapur, Feb 27: Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president D K Shivakumar has denied the allegation that Siddaramaiah is being targeted. Referring to the Congress dissent regarding Mysuru City Corporation, he said that nobody is targeting anybody. “JD(S) had told that they will give us the position of Mayor but have filed nominations at the last minute.”
“We tried to retain power in our party. But JDS has made a decision within them. I will seek a report in this connection. I will make sure that none of our names are maligned. I will not allow to blame anybody.”
Regarding the incident in which Tanveer Sait slammed Siddaramaiah, he said that nobody is allowed to speak ill about our leaders. “The party stand is clear in this connection. I do not know what Sait said. I have asked him to visit me on Monday.”
“Regarding suspicious death of Paresh Mestha that made noise during the last elections, we had asked the CBI to conduct investigations to provide justice,” he said.
“Now that BJP is ruling the government, what is the difficulty for them to order for investigations? Is it not necessary for people to know the truth? When you are doing other things quickly why do you cover this? You had conducted CBI investigations against me in haste. You have troubled me taking undue advantage of your power. Why are they going slow in Mestha case?” he asked.
Regarding the Panchamasali campaign, he said that he will not speak about religion and math now. “I will respond about it later after holding discussions with senior party leaders,” he said.
