Mangaluru, Feb 27: A criminal investigation department (CID) team that has been entrusted with the task of investigating an incident in which a luxury car belonging to the accused that had been seized by the police was sold, arrived in the city. Reportedly, police personnel of the city crime branch were involved with the deal. The team collected details of the incident.
CID superintendent of police, Rohini Katoch, is leading the team that is probing the incident. The team, after completing its probe, will submit its report to the state director general of police.

A police officer and staff who allegedly were involved with the incident, have been served with notices. In this case preliminary probe had been conducted by deputy commissioner of police, Vinay Gaonkar. He has submitted the report to the police commissioner.
In the preliminary investigation, past police sub-inspector of criminal intelligence bureau, Kabbalraj, Ashith and Raja of CCB and inspector of narcotic and economics offences station, Ramakrishna. Name of a broker, Divyadarshan too finds a mention in the report, it is said.
The car belonged to people who were running a business by promising to double the investors’ money within months. The police had taken the people involved therein into custody and seized three cars from their possession.
