Panaji, Jul 3: Navy Children School, Vasco won the Goa City finals of Limca Book of Records Quiz- 2010 held at Don Bosco High School on Friday July 2.
Anil Kumar and Shahish Surme, young geniuses from the winning school in Goa would now be amongst the 80 schools to compete in the semi finals.
Raj Kunkolienkar and Shantanu Kulkarni from Mushtifund High School, emerged as the runners up. Around 90 students from 50 schools participated from Goa out of which six schools competed in the city finals–Kendriya Vidyalaya Vasco, KV INS, Navy Children School, Regina Mundi High School, Sharda Mandir School, Mushtifund High School.
The winning team was felicitated by Lakshmanan Ramakrishnan, factory Manager, Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages Private Limited. Father Savio Fernandez, principal, Don Bosco High School, was also present.
The multi-city initiative has been launched in partnership with ‘Know & Grow with Derek’ and involves participation of young geniuses from class 8 to12. As part of the initiative, series of quiz competitions are being organized across 3500 schools across 100 cities divided into four zones – North, South, East and West. The quiz is being organized in three stages – Inter-school level, Semi-Finals & National Finals from April to December, 2010.

Derek O’ Brien, renowned quizmaster and founder “’Know & Grow with Derek’ will host the national finals. The entire database including content, research material and quiz software is being provided by ‘Know & Grow with Derek’.

Limca Book of Records Quiz 2009 was immensely successful as students from over 3000 schools battled it out to be the winners of the National Finals.
