Mangaluru, Feb 25: Dakshina Kannada district administration has relaxed the requirement that had made production of corona negative certificate a mandatory requirement for the people coming into the district from Kerala, for a week.
Deputy commissioner Dr K V Rajendra, said that production of corona negative certificate was made mandatory for people coming in from Kerala as incident of the disease was high in that state. "We never intended to create problems for anyone. We are relaxing this condition for a week. We will organize corona testing camps at various places including schools, colleges and institutions. Relating to strictly following the said rule, we will act in the coming days," he clarified.

Entry into the district is allowed only through four points now. Corona testing is continuing there. Health department said that RT-PCR tests were conducted for 300 people at Talapady, 55 at Jalsoor, 75 at Saradka and 37 at Nettanige Mudnoor and Menala. After corona negative certificate was made compulsory, the number of passengers arriving in the city by KSRTC buses has seen a marked reduction. Particularly in the afternoon trips, the buses are found to be mostly vacant.
