Mangaluru, Feb 24: City police under the aegis of police commissioner N Shashi Kumar arranged a get-together and film screening for the women police staff including their women family members of Mangaluru city police commissionerate limits here at Cinepolis at City Centre on Wednesday February 24.

As many as 250 women staff from various police stations of Mangaluru city police commissionerate limits were part of the occasion. Kannada movie ‘Pogaru’ was screened for the gathering.

Shashi Kumar said, “Women officers and constables, and home guards worked relentlessly day and night during the pandemic and also to maintain law and order. The get-together and film screening is like a stress buster to relax yourself. Women police personnel have always worked like the male staff. They have a huge responsibility where they manage their house, do all the house works and also do their policing duties without giving any excuses. We also had instances where pregnant women police were seen working showing all their dedication towards their profession. You all are corona warriors. A big salute for all the women staff.”

RJ Prasanna compered the event.

Manager of Cinepolis Mangaluru Keerthan Shetty, DCPs Vinay Goankar and Hariram Shankar, ACP Jagadish and others were present.

This is indeed an excellent move on the part of Police Commissioner Mr. Shashi Kumar to get the women Police together and give them adequate attention and importance for the relentless jobs they are doing. As the Police Commissioner rightly pointed out, women have rather too much work because apart from doing their duties adequately they have to attend to their domestic work too and provide necessary care to the children.
