Remove corrupt BJP government, give opportunity to Congress - Former CM Siddaramaiah
"If we come to power we will give 10 kg of rice. The BJP government has reduced two kg out of the seven kg that is being given on PDS. So remove the corrupt and bad government of BJP and give another opportunity to Congress to form government in Karnataka," said former chief minister (CM) and leader of opposition Siddaramaiah after inaugurating the six-day Janadhwani foot march in the city, which is organized by the Congress party against the anti-people stand of union government.
He further said, "After BJP came to power, they created the fire of caste. They made Udupi and Mangaluru as the laboratory for casteism. Human beings should not hate human beings. Everyone should be loved. That is the primary duty.
"Members of BJP are not human beings at all. They cannot be Vishwamanavas. CM B S Yediyurappa is the son of a fake farmer. He does not have the moral right to wear the green shawl.
"Will Hindutva satiate the stomach? There is Rama in my name also. All are Hindus and Indians. We follow the Hindutva preached by Mahatma Gandhi. BJP follows Hindutva preached by Savarkar. They adore those who killed Gandhi. They create bloodshed and say that they are with Hindus.
"According to our constitution, we should be dedicated to our religion and at the same time should have tolerance towards the other religions. After BJP has come to power, life of poor and middle class people has turned into hell.
"It is not important how wide the chest of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is. I was born in the pre-independence era. Not a single member of BJP has died for the nation. But they speak about patriotism. One should have the heart to respond to the hardships of the public.
"Congress unites the society. There are numerous castes and religions in our country. The motto of secularism is to treat them equally,” he said.
