Kasargod, Feb 21: Uttar Pradesh (UP) chief minister (CM) Yogi Adityanath accused the LDF and UDF parties of promoting love jihad in Kerala in his speech at the BJP rally in the state on Sunday, February 21. Further, he stated that a law against love jihad similar to Uttar Pradesh is required in Kerala.
The UP chief minister on Sunday in Talipaddu, Kasargod, inaugurated the BJP rally which was led by the Kerala unit of the BJP and its state president K Surendran.
The Kerala court had mentioned love jihad in 2007, but the government failed to bring a law against it, Yogi informed. He also said that the UP government has successfully framed a law against love jihad and that a law against conversion was soon required.
Yogi also attacked the Kerala government on failing to curb the rising coronavirus cases. He pointed out that the government in the state is involved in corruption and has forgotten to give importance to the welfare of the public. The UP CM also stated that the Kerala government was not implementing central government welfare schemes.
The programme was attended by central minister V Murlidharan, other leaders like Kummanam Rajasekharan, P K Krishna Das, Rajagopal, Shobha Surendran, C K Padmanabhan, Karkala MLA Sunil Kumar, M T Ramesh, BDJS leaders Tushar Vellapalli, P C Thomas, George Kurian, BJP district president K Shrikanth, and Suresh Kumar Shetty.
The rally will pass through all constituencies and reach Thiruvananthapuram on March 7.
