Udupi, Jun 30: Two women were reported missing in the district under the limits of Kaup police station on Monday June 28.
Twenty-four-year-old Sangeetha, a resident of Aryady in Pangala Gram Panchayat (GP), went missing on Monday.
She was working in Mumbai and stayed with her brother-in-law there. She had returned to her native Aryady a few days ago. It is said that Sangeetha met a certain Abdul Jaleel, a native of Mallar, near here, who was working in Mumbai and they fell in love with each other.
Sangeetha and Supriya
The family of Sangeetha suspect that she has eloped with Jaleel as per plans they made while in Mumbai.
Meanwhile, 22-year-old Supriya, a resident of Sarkarigudde, near Katpady, was also reported missing on Monday.
The family of Supriya had arranged her marriage and it was to take place in July. Supriya left home telling her parents that she was going to deliver her wedding invitation cards to her friends on Monday morning and did not return.
It is believed that she was in love with her neighbour, a certain Sadiq, whose whereabouts are not yet known.
Kaup police registered missing persons’ cases in this regard and the search is underway for the missing women.
