Bengaluru, Jan 22: Speaking about the reported unhappiness about the portfolios allocated to a few ministers, revenue minister R Ashok, said that distribution of portfolios is done at the absolute discretion of the chief minister.
"Yediyurappa is a fourth time chief minister. Based on his rich experience, he has measured the talent and capabilities of individual ministers and accordingly has distribute the portfolios. These things are normal. It is impossible even for the god to satisfy everyone. Even J C Madhuswamy has got good portfolios. Everyone has faith in the chief minister and we hope that the problem would be sorted out soon," Ashok said, addressing a press meet held on Thursday January 21 at the Vidhana Soudha.
Referring to satirical comments emanating from the Congress relating to this issue, Ashok said he is aware how Veerendra Patil was stripped of power overnight by that party leaders, and how the clothes of Veerappa Moily were torn and how he was hounded thereafter.
It is said that newly inducted minister, MTB Nagaraj, poured out his anger against revenue minister, R Ashok. He reportedly gave a tongue lashing to Ashok, charging the latter with waking the former up at midnight, getting him to resign from his position, and then leaving him high and dry.
Bommai meets HDK
In the midst of this confusion, former chief minister H D Kumaraswamy, met home minister, Basavaraj Bommai, and held discussions. This meeting kicked a lot of curiosity. Both the leaders met at Bommai's residence at R T Nagar where they were closeted for about half an hour.
