Panaji, Jan 20: Chief minister, Pramod Sawant said that there is 'no possibility of mid-term polls' in the state.
Sawant on Wednesday ruled out the possibility of mid-term assembly polls in the state claiming that the current government will complete its entire tenure.
The five-year-long tenure of the Goa Legislative Assembly ends in February 2022.
Responding to a question on the possibility of mid-term assembly polls, Sawant said that there is no reason to go for an early election in the state.
“BJP-led governments, in the state and also in the centre, have been executing several developmental works in Goa. There are few projects which will be completed in the next few days,” he said.
The chief minister said that the state government under his leadership 'is doing well and is stable'.
“We don’t need to go for any early elections. We will complete the tenure and then go for the polls at the right time,” Sawant said asserting that the next government will also be that of BJP in Goa.
