Beltangady, Jan 18: A SDPI leader has thrown a challenge to BJP with regards to the alleged pro-Pak slogan during the counting of votes of gram panchayat elections at Ujire in the taluk.
The SDPI leader said, "Will you come to Shri Kshetra Dharmasthala Manjunatha Swami temple and vow that you have not said ‘Pakistan Jai’. We are ready."
Speaking in a programme, the leader said, "If by saying ‘Pakistan Jai’ if we get any advantage, we would have definitely said that same. But we do not gain anything from such sloganeering. On the contrary it will be a disgrace for us.
“Social Democratic Party of India fights for this land and the people of this country,” he said.
