    Cynthia,
Thanks you understood my situation in right frame of mind. I am Over continuous while crossing busy roads because I have mild positioning vertigo which makes me imbalanced if I rush or turn my head very frequently. I'm under medication for that.

    Dylon,
Suggestion perfect but where u go searching zebra crossing. In Highland no zebra crossing at all. It is impatience of the drivers makes elderly people get panic.
Life is more precious than taking a crude decision. When I was a young boy I used cross any where any time . Those days are over.

One day I wanted to cross the road at Bendoor Well circle to go to Ganesh Medicals and my few attempts to cross the road were un successful. Finally I gave up and took a rickshaw paying min. charges and reached the Medical shop safe. This is the fate of shaky pedestrians to venture crossing at any junctions. Another junction Highlands OMG.

This is really silly, should have crossed the road using zebra crossing.

This is not silly. Even if you try crossing the road through "zebra crossing" vehicles won't slow down especially two wheelers..they are hurrying like anything and behave as if road meant for them only. They go speeding.... I agree with Flavian..

Mangalore roads and heavy traffic is beyond the hopes and understanding of senior citizens.
Private buses drivers are always plying and overtake rival company buses and any given time and opportunity with out paying much attention to the pedestrians needs. Mangalore population and general activities have increased dramatically comparing to the early days of 80-90s. Roads are not broad enough and are planned unscientific way and there is less scope to widen them.

Very dangerous junction, the traffic lights are not functional that is the cause of the accident. Just waste of tax payers money by installing traffic lights and not operating. Hope the new traffic lights at Hampankatta will have the same fate.

Kankanady junction is another spot with heavy traffic and private busses race to overtake rival company busses with out caring or paying any attention to pedestrians on the roads. It is my birth place and primary school days in St. Joseph's school but today I find it so difficult to cross the road and reach other side of the road.

Get these private buses and their insane drivers off the roads and see the improvement!!! These maniacs drive as if they are racing on a Formula One Race Track with no respect for fellow motorists or traffic rules. Replace them with KSRTC buses, Let these Schumacher wannabes become jobless and realize what kind of nuisance they were creating on the roads daily with their circus stunts.

If the concerned authorities are reading this,
It's high time you guys take strict action against Mangalore Bus Drivers. Most of them (almost 90%) drive very irresponsibly. They just don't care about who is driving around. And by chance you confront them, it won't take a minute to witness the rowdy face hidden behind them. Either set a speed limit or install CCTV inside the buses. I'm sure you guys will churn more money through these offences rather than stopping people who are riding solo without masks.
