‘Very happy to be part of KBC’
Speaking to media persons at press club on Saturday January 16, Ravi said, “I am very happy to be part of the Hindi game show ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ (KBC). It was like a dream for me. I cannot believe that I met Bollywood star Amitabh Bachchan. Another famous actor Anupam Kher treated me well and helped me to communicate at the show. I do not know Hindi, but he encouraged and filled me with confidence. I was very nervous and never seen such a big show in my life. I am unable to convey my happiness in words.
“Moreover, they shot in coastal area tourist places, our culture and lifestyle. That made me happier. The channel provided all facilities to make me feel comfortable,” he said.
So far, Ravi has helped many lives with his unique way of social service. He cried remembering the situation of his niece. “She died from cancer. I was not able to help as the required amount was huge. I have a principle in my life that if I collect money for the cause of helping poor and needy children’s medical treatment, I will not use that amount for other purposes. I will dedicate that money to the medical treatment of the needy kids. Then, even though I had the money, I was not able to spend on my niece’s treatment. I was not able to save her life because I found myself helpless.”
“My friends and well-wishers have helped me in every step. I am doing centering work for my daily bread. I am ready for any kind of work to earn a living. Nowadays, people are treating me in a different way and I am not able to get a job. No one is calling for me for work as they I have received a lot of publicity from media and public. But in reality, I have a life and I have to look after my parents also. So far, the amount credited to my account from KBC is Rs 12.5 lac. After some procedure, it will be released. The amount will be spent on the same cause and service will be continued in the same way till the end of my life. I am very happy with this service,” he said.
