Mangaluru Jan 12: Vishwa Hindu Parishad will hold a campaign to raise funds for the construction of Ram Mandir at Ayodhya from January 15 to February 5, informed regional secretary Sharan Pumpwell.
Addressing media here on Tuesday, January 12, Sharan Pumpwell said, “Recently, the foundation stone was laid for Ram Mandir at Ayodhya. Under Shri Rama Janmabhoomi Teertha Kshetra trust, Vishwa Hindu Parishad will conduct a fundraising campaign from January 15 to February 5.”
Regional secretary of Vishwa Hindu Parishad Sharan Pumpwell said, “VHP representatives will visit every household and collect funds for Ram Mandir. We have formed a team at 4,000 booths, each booth carries 25 members and will collect fund from people in Mangaluru region. We have printed coupons of Rs 10, Rs 100 and Rs 1,000. Those willing to donate Rs 2,000 or more, receipts will be given to them. The fund collection will be completely transparent and the money collected will be credited to bank accounts at State Bank of India, Bank of Baroda and Punjab National Bank.
“There will be no scope of irregularities in collecting funds. The receipt coupons are being printed by the central government. Except for Vishwa Hindu Parishad, no other organisations are involved in the campaign. The members who are part of the campaign should register themselves. Separate IDs have been issued to those who visit the bank to credit the funds to bank accounts. Our aim is to collect up to Rs 25 crore through this campaign in Mangaluru region,” he said.
Regional working president M B Puranik, district president VHP Gopal Kutthar, district secretary Shivanand Mendon, regional co-secretary Krishna Murthy, regional convenor Bajrang Dal Bujanga Kulal and others were present.
