Mandya: 'BJP stole Atma Nirbhar Bharat concept, my brainchild' - Kumaraswamy

Mandya, Jan 11: Former chief minister of Karnataka, H D Kumaraswamy, targeted the central government in his address at Neralekere village in Srirangapatna taluk here on Sunday January 10.

He accused the BJP of hijacking his plans and claiming them to be its own. "The BJP confines itself to only harping on 'Rama Rajya' concept but I will show to the world by building one. My style of functioning is totally different. When others said that loans cannot be waived, I showed to them that it is possible. If we do not meet the promises made in our manifesto, our party will never seek votes of the people. I will dissolve the party in that scenario. I will go before the people with my programmes. If people repose faith on us, and if we are allowed to independently rule for five years, I will implement five programmes per year by naming it as 'Pancha Ratna'. If the people want 'Pancha Ratna', they have to vote for the JD(S)," he stated.

He also called on the people to vote for him instead of assessing the value of individual candidates. He said that the party will be strengthened from gram panchayat level for facing the 2023 election.

He said credit for signing the memorandum of understanding for the electronic toys industry, 'Compete with China' slogan that has been adopted in the form of 'Atma Nirbhar Bharat', etc should go to him which the BJP and Modi have copied. He said that the state will be ruled by his party in 2023.
