Chikkamagaluru: First case registered under cow slaughter ban ordinance

Daijiworld Media Network - Chikkamagaluru (SP)

Chikkamagaluru, Jan 9: After the controversial cow slaughter ban law was enforced in Karnataka through an ordinance, the first case under the law was registered in the district on Friday January 8.

Thirty-four cattle were being illegally transported in two containers to Mangaluru from Ranebennur in Davanagere district via Sringeri during the early hours on Friday when a group of youngsters stopped them near Tanikodu check post. The driver of one of the vehicles ran away from there while the other driver was attacked by the mob. The police who came to the spot later, took over both the containers and the animals. Separate cases were registered in Sringeri police station against the two drivers.

The injured driver, identified as Abid Ali from Davanagere, stands admitted into the government hospital at Sringeri for treatment.

This happens to be the first case in the state to have been registered under the new law. The law has placed restrictions on transportation of cows for slaughter. If the charges are proved, the accused can be sentenced to between three and seven years of jail terms with fine of up to five lac rupees.

The ordinance banning cow slaughter, in Karnataka state, has to welcomed, with due respect to the statutory Article 48th of the Constitution of India !!! This law is also strictly implemented in my state of Maharashtra.....There were intial rounds of rage, acrimony, protests, but in due course of time, this discord gradually subsided... Today there are no real issues, citizens have learnt to respect laws of the state...

Stay away from cattle trade - no use being arrested and spoiling your life in jail. Simply giving others chance to point fingers at you. There is lot of scope in mutton and ducks koftas sausages steaks.
Either way I am waiting to see is if someone has the honestly and sincerity to ban beef export. Reminds me of the P:::::sees.

What type of law? You cant create law of ur own will and say to follow it? Is it any divine law to say that we blindly follow it?
Tomorrow if u pass an ordinance so that none should marry like your famous partymen, so should we accept such law? Law should be meaningful and there should be justice to all.
