‘Overheated car engines, silencers reason for Aero India fire mishap’- Police to HC

Bengaluru, Jan 8: Police have informed the high court (HC) that the overheated engines and silencers of parked cars that came in contact with dry grass in the parking lot was the reason for the fire mishap that occurred during the 2019 Aero India show in the city.

ACP of Yalahanka sub division has submitted a report in this regard to the court. In the report it is mentioned that the heated engines and silencers of the cars that were parked in the parking place near gate 5 on February 3, 2019, were the cause of the fire as they came in contact with the dry grass which was fully grown.

In the fire mishap that took place during the Aero India show of 2019, 277 cars were completely gutted while 44 were partially burnt.

    Who's fault it is ...!!!??? Not the people who parked the cars for sure. Administration must take full responsibility and compensate for the loss of property.

    Ha ha what a joke !!!! It took such a long time to make that inference, obviously a heated exhaust in contact with dry grass is bound to catch fire - not rocket science!!!!. I guess once the word overheated is used it makes it the car’s fault!!!!
