MESCOM should first cut short their unwanted expenses like 1 car for their 1 employee for pick up and drop, plus its also used for lunchtime.
There will be many such luxury expense which can be cut down first before looting Common man.

Thousands of engineering students pass out of our engineering colleges each year. Every year, we read in the newspapers about engineering students developing wind tunnels to test the coefficient of drag of cars (which discipline is already well advanced, and sadly irrelevant to Indian auto sector), developing a motorbike whose fuel mileage makes us drool (which has not seen the light of the day as yet), and so on, which make no sense to the common man. I have yet to see even one engineering student developing a gadget that helps ease the life of the common man as part of his/her engineering project . It is time for them to take up the challenge and develop a portable electricity-generating device that can produce enough electricity to power a family of four. There is no dearth of resources, technology is available and free gifts of nature, namely, sunlight, rainwater and wind, are in abundance. Only the will to put together both and serve humanity is lacking. Finding ways to eliminate dependence on this kind of inefficient and draconian establishments would be the greatest service to Indians.

Instead of raising the rates, let MESCOM increase its efficiency in working. The costs will automatically come down and profitability will rise. Rates are already very high. Burdening poor people further will mean only bring in "achhe din" to politicians.

Perhaps its time to push for solar and other types of electricity generation. Whichever govt comes and gives empty promises, we, the people of today will die. Our future generations must survive, they need this planet to survive on.

BJP or Congress... 1.67 increase is too much. Present it is 3.95 at minimum. So 1.67 increase means 5.62 at minimum? How the poor are to live?

Earlier whenever there was a small increase in petrol/LPG/Milk/Electricity, people were unitedly getting on the roads to protest.

What is happening today ? BJP IT cell warns in advance if people of their ward/constituency respond. Who will protest ? Have any guts ?

Before Modiji came to power there were no roads in India, no electricity, no India on the world map. Now, no matter what happens to electricity tarriffs, diese price, we know that we are in India. Jai Modiji, jai voters. If you don't join the slogan, you are certainly an anti-national.

This sharp increase in MESCOM rate is condemnable and public should write to the concerned department to raise their objections. MESCOM is very cunning in their approach for the public to raise the objections.

Six sets of Objections need to be sent in prescribed form. Where is the prescribed form. Is it on hard copy or soft copy.

Let us raise the objections and save all the common man , from looting by MESCOM.

Mescom staff seriously need management up-gradation. They should be sent to Delhi to learn from Aravind Kejriwal how to manage without putting any burden on the common people. Compare the unit rates of Delhi with Karnataka.
