Belagavi, Dec 31: We have heard about separate parlours meant for men and women. But a city corporator at Kolhapur, Maharashtra, has opened a beauty parlour that is fully dedicated to buffalos. This parlour has been set up at Mangeshkar Nagar and its own happens to be councillor named Vijay Sooryavamshi.
The parlour provides oil massage and bath to over 50 buffalos every day. Once in three weeks, the hair on the bodies of animals are removed to enhance their look.
These services are provided at the parlour free of cost. The dung produced by the animals at the parlour and wastewater produced when giving the buffalos a bath are reused for two parks located next to the parlour. The hair of the animals too are recycled. The ward No. 44 which Sooryavamshi represented has been given the first rank by the corporation because of this project.
Sooryavamshi says that the parlour is located in the municipal land and the municipal employees maintain it. He reveals that bath, massage and hair removal are attended by farmers themselves and he only meets the electricity bill.
