Mangaluru, Dec 27: The city police have received information that the person who happens to be the mastermind behind the two pro-terrorism graffitis found at Bejai and near the court comlplex here, is currently in Saudi Arabia.
In connection with the writings, Mohammed Shaarik, Maz Munir and Sadiq, all from Thirthahalli, are currently in judicial custody. In their statements, Shaarik and Munir have revealed certain information.
Sources said that the accused had spoken to a person living abroad before writing on the walls. The person concerned is also a native of Thirthahalli and an activist of an organization, it is said. The investigation so far has made the police to conclude that this man had encouraged Munir and Shaarik to indulge in the said act.
But there is no clue as of now about the purpose of creating the graffiti, with whom or which organization the person in Saudi has links, and whether he has any connection with terrorist organizations. The police, who have issued a lookout notice for him, hope to bring more details relating to the case out, once they are able to take him into custody.
The police claim that a call had been made from the city to an activist of an organization in Saudi seeking to do something in the city so that there is turmoil here. It is said that the trio who are in judicial custody have no knowledge about that person. The police are trying to establish his identity and also to find whether he is a member of any organization.
