Goa crosses 50,000 mark with 88 new coronavirus cases

Panaji, Dec 21: The state crossed the 50,000 mark with 88 new infections that were reported on Sunday. The death toll rose to 722 with three more Covid-related deaths.

Active cases in Goa dropped to 972. A total of 18 persons have been placed in home isolation and 37 new coronavirus hospitalisations were reported. Over 91 people have recovered and 48,371 discharged till date with the recovery rate at 96.6%.

The highest active cases continue to be in the jurisdiction of Margao urban health centre at 152 followed by Qyepem with 78, Porvorim with 77, Panaji with 59 and Ponda with 51.
