New Delhi, Dec 19 (IANS): TCL, which is one of the largest brands in the TV space, has brought the C715, C815, and X915 premium televisions in India, with sizes ranging from 50 inches to 85 inches, as the Indian masses fall in love with the big-screen experience at home.
We used the 65-inch TCL C715 4K QLED TV that comes with support for Dolby Vision priced at Rs 95,590.
In terms of design, the TV really scores decent marks thanks to the metal frame around the screen.
There is a TCL logo on the metal chin at the bottom, and a fabric-wrapped module just below that holds the IR receiver and indicator lights. The back of the TV is plain black plastic and it is slim near the edges.
In terms of ports, the TV is conventionally equipped, with three HDMI ports, two USB ports, a LAN port, an Antenna In socket, digital audio out (Optical), a single AV-In socket which can be used with an adapter, and a 3.5mm audio out socket for headphones or speakers.
The connectivity options are ample and the TV also supports Bluetooth and both 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi.
The TV also comes with stands in the box to table-mount it.
The TCL C715 4K QLED TV has a VA panel with support for 4K resolution and HDR 10, HDR 10+ along with Dolby Vision. Dolby Vision brings extraordinary colour, contrast, and brightness to the screen, transforming the viewing experience.
During the review, to check HDR 10+ and HDR 10, we used Amazon Prime Video and YouTube for this, respectively. The content overall looks good but has a warmer tone to it, something we saw with the other premium TVs.
The TV comes with Boasting Quantum Dot technology, which lets you watch with pristine picture quality and true-to-life images.
Netflix and Amazon Prime Video on the television were able to stream in 4K content and we also used other platforms such as Hotstar, YouTube, YouTube Kids. 4K is a higher resolution than FHD, 4K four times better pixels than FHD. It gives stunning picture quality and real life-like the picture to the users.
The TV has 2GB of RAM and 16GB of in-built storage for apps and games and is powered by a 64-bit quad-core processor.
The TV runs Android P includes access and discover entertainment, get stunning experience with apps through Google Play Store, where you can download over 5,000 app.
To sum up the quality of the display, we would say that the TV offers a decent all-around viewing experience with all kinds of content.
The 65C715 TV comes with 30W (15 X 2) total sound output with Dolby Atmos and DTS-HD. TCL adopted advanced DTSpost-processing technology.
The true zero-compressed audio decoding formats create a rich acoustic-field replicating the sound of live-studio recordings. The TV set will produce a sound quality that can rival a family stereo.
All the videos that we watched during our review were played using the internal speakers of the TV and for the most part, they sounded good and if you are planning to buy this TV you would not require any additional soundbar.
The remote features hands-free voice controls for easy access and during our review, it really worked well for us. It comes with standard buttons to adjust the volume, access settings and change the source, Android TV keys, and a D-pad to navigate the interface.
The remote has a good grip and fits well in the hands too.
Conclusion: TCL is a known brand in India when it comes to affordable TV space and with the new offering the firm is looking ahead to create its presence in the premium segment as well.
No doubt, with the 65-inch TCL C715 4K QLED TV, the company has taken a big step towards building a new benchmark in the premium TV market dominated by the likes of Sony, Samsung and LG.
