Udupi, Dec 18: Many children feel a deep bond of love and indebtedness towards their mother who does so much for them. The sacrifices she makes and difficulties she endures in bringing up the children and guiding them to become good citizens are beyond comparison. A veteran artiste here has got his mother's bust done, built a shrine for her, and has been offering prayers to the bust, seeking the divine blessings of his late mother.
There is an adage which says that bad children are possible, but never a bad mother. Because, the mother wants every step of her children to be on the right path and towards their welfare. Therefore, it is but natural for the children in general to crave to do something for their mother. Veteran actor, cine producer and director Dr Rajshekhar Kotian, with the intent of making the memories of his mother permanent, has built a beautiful shrine for her at his house at his native place, Santhoor Garadi, where he has installed her idol to which he keeps offering puja.
He got the monolithic bust of his mother done in white marble at Jaipur, Rajasthan, by a Rajasthani artist, Prathviwaj. It took six months for the bust to carve and Kotian spent lacs of rupees to get the bust made and get it transported to his village.
Kotian had given the photo of his mother to the artist, and the idol looks exactly like his mother. Rajshekhar is happy that he gets the feeling of having direct contact with his mother whenever he approaches the bust or performs puja to the bust.
