Mangaluru, Dec 17: There are bright chances of the case pertaining to graffiti hailing terrorist organizations which appeared at two public places in the city recently, being taken up by the National Investigation Agency (NIA). NIA has collected primary information about the happenings.
NIA gathered details from the central intelligence department after coming to know about the chances of the arrested main accused Mohammed Shaarik from Thirthahalli, having links with a terrorist organization, and also on account of the information about the likely involvement of a person from, abroad in the case. Considering that the issue is serious, a NIA team visited the city and collected information, sources said. But senior police officers did not confirm about the arrival of the NIA team here.
The police have seized equipment used for creating the graffiti. They too are important evidences in the case, sources stated.
Mohammed Shaarik, working as a salesman in his father's wholesale cloth stores at Thirthalli used to visit the city often. He had mustered the support of Maz Munir Ahammed, an engineering student living in an apartment in the city, while executing his plans. After the act was committed, Shaarik's uncle had extended financial assistance and help to abscond.
Realising that the case has multiple extensions, the police are putting in efforts to investigate and find them out.
