Puttur, Dec 16: A group of students from Puttur have taken up an initiative of donating hair for cancer patients that can bring smile on their faces.
Named the group as ‘Seeds of Hope’, the team consists nine young students between class 10 to second PU. Aadhya Sulochana studying in 10th standard at Vivekananda English Medium School at Puttur started the team with an idea to start an initiative of donating hair for cancer patients.
When Aadhya was in sixth standard, see saw her favourite teacher, who was a cancer patient, come to school, head covered with a scarf. This made Aadhya emotional and inspired her to donate her hair for cancer patients. She began to grow her hair so that in future she could donate it. At the time of lockdown, Aadhya donated her 10 to 12 inch hair for cancer patients to an organization. Later, Aadhya set up a team of nine students called ‘Seed of Hope’ and continued the kind gesture of donating hair for cancer patients through it.
Aadhya Sulochana, Isha Sulochana, Varsha Bhat, Neha Bhat, Akshaya Parvathy Saroli, Samartharama Muliya, Kaushal S Y, Hitha Kaje and Kanya Sachin Shetty are the nine students who are associated with ‘Seed of Hope’.
