Mangaluru: Annual general meeting of Rachana held, members felicitated

Mangaluru, Dec 14: Annual general meeting (AGM) of Rachana, Catholic Chamber of Commerce and Industry, was held at MCC Bank Ltd head office on Sunday December 13.

Rachana president Elias Sanctis, secretary Nelson Monteiro, and treasurer Felix Pinto were present.

President Elias Sanctis welcomed the members and briefed about Rachana activities held during the last year. He also mentioned that due to the coronavirus pandemic, not many major projects and programmes could be done as per expectation. However, he assured that they will bounce back once things get back to normal.

Deliberations held during the AGM were about annual report and audited accounts of year 2019-20 and appointment of auditors for the year 2020-21.

A few Rachana members were felicitated for their outstanding service and achievements in the society in various capacities. Roy Castelino, former Rachana president, who is appointed as public relations officer for Mangalore diocese, Marcel Monteiro, former Rachana president, for being appointed as member of Planning Commission, government of Karnataka, Santhosh D’Silva for being elected as president of Cashew Manufactures Association of Karnataka, John M Monteiro, former Rachana president for being appointed as secretary for Episcopal city varado and also as political convener for Catholic Sabha city varado, and Deepak Dsouza for being elected as joint secretary of Catholic Sabha Mangalore diocese, were felicitated.

The programme was compeered by former Rachana president Stany Alvares and the vote of thanks was proposed by Rachana secretary Nelson Monteiro. The meeting concluded with dinner.
